Skin naturally produces a chemical caused porphyrin to fight the internal bacteria that causes acne. Scientists have discovered that four specific wavelengths of light stimulate the body’s production of porphyrin and dramatically reduce acne by breaking down the bacteria through the production of singlet oxygen.
